Blame? Here? Shift it that way, would you?

There are already people blaming the Southern Poverty Law Center/liberals in general for the shooting at the Family Research Council, blaming them for referring to the FRC as a hate group.

The FRC is a hate group. Converstion therapy, lobbying against hate crime legislation, against anti-bullying programs, and actively working to promote the idea that homosexuality is equivalent to pedophilia is hate.

That doesn’t make what happened right, and it’s a tragedy that someone was shot (likely a man just earning a paycheck, not affiliated with the group’s politics), but a reactionary denial of the FRC’s policies and shifting the blame to “those damn liberals inciting violence” is in no way acceptable.

Partisan politics have no place in this. Hate isn’t a zero sum game, whether institutionally perpetrated by a lobbying group or personally by an asshole with a gun.
