Granted, any good writer can edit to an extent, though I’ve done professional editing as well. Again, a fairly common claim!
I’m an experienced writer, mostly opinion pieces, commentary and reviews. I’ve also got some fiction under my belt as well as press releases and documentation. I run a multitude of websites, though only two are particularly important right now. Those would be http://www.gamecurmudgeons.com and http://www.selfimportantwebsite.com. The former is gaming news and opinion, the latter is exactly what it claims to be, a self-important website in which I complain about things perceived to be stupid. I’m looking ultimately for contract work, but who isn’t? Barring that, freelance work is a fairly okay way to pay the bills, and I’m looking for some of that good stuff too. You know, money!
Rather than ramble on and on about my virtues as a writer, I’m going to leave this as an uncharacteristically short post, letting my work speak for itself. After all, it’s my work that you’re judging, and hopefully wanting some of it for your own use. I work clean or dirty, straight or funny (though I do prefer funny of course), and write for a target audience when I’m on a project. My rates are reasonable because the market isn’t!
And of course I make the disclaimer, I do NOT do spec work. I take pride in my work, and spec demeans the client and vendor. It’s much better to find someone who’s close to what you want and work with them to get it perfect, instead of hoping to luck into it!
